RMS Queen Mary
A retired British luxury ocean liner launched in 1936, permanently docked in Long Beach since 1967 and operated as a hotel and museum.
The RMS Queen Mary, built by John Brown & Company in Clydebank, Scotland, was launched in September 1936 and sailed as a transatlantic liner for thirty years. After her retirement from scheduled service in 1967, she was towed to Long Beach, where she was permanently docked and converted into a hotel and museum operated by Aimbridge Hospitality. Today she remains one of Long Beach's most recognizable landmarks, moored at Pier J along the waterfront.
Visitors to the Queen Mary can take guided historical tours through the ship's grand halls and working quarters, stay in restored staterooms as hotel guests, dine in restaurants that recall the ship's elegant service era, and attend special events and weddings hosted on her decks.
